Malabrigo Mora is 100% pure mulberry silk, the ultimate luxury yarn! This four-ply fingering weight yarn is as strong as it is soft. The pure silk takes dye with an unparalleled richness, bringing out colors that will blow your socks off! Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project, since each bag is a different dye lot and skeins may vary from bag to bag. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball. Great for: shawls, scarves, fine garments, and little luxuries. Being as this yarn is hand-dyed, each skein can vary in color, even in the same dye lot.

Where did the name "Malabrigo" come from?
"Mal Abrigo" roughly translates to "bad shelter", which is a curious name for a yarn company. This name partially comes from the small village of Mal Abrigo in Uruguay. This village was named Mal Abrigo because it is extremely windy and back in the day when people traveled everywhere on horseback and had to find shelter for the night, it was famous for being a terrible place to stop. In the minds of the founders of Malabrigo, it is an imaginary and very chilly place where the weather drives everyone inside to knit, or cozy up to the fire, and where woolly sweaters, hats, and scarves are always useful!
